Why Are There So Many Fake Facts Today? 4 Major Factors

During this past decade, we've witnessed, an ever - increasing amount/ degree of disinformation, which seldom serves the best interests, needs, and related concerns of our society! This seems to have come, too, a - mind, in our most recent election cycles, especially the last Presidential contest. Our nation elected an individual, who had no public service experience and expertise, frequently seemed unprepared, seemingly gets his advice from questionable sources, and many, who have done business with him, question, whether he had been as great, and powerful, a businessman, as he claims. As there are so many other sources of so - called, news, including cable tv, online streaming websites, along with other questionable sources, like Social Media, along with other websites, our society gets far more susceptible, to this impact! We all have witnessed the efforts of Russia, for instance, in attempting to affect our elections and public opinion, and it frequently takes, considerable time and effort, to distinguish between actual news and false facts!

1. Internet and Social Media: In years past, when we desired information, etc, we consulted newspapers, encyclopedias, textbooks, etc.. Today, however, our principal source of acquiring information/ information, is summed up, by the expression, Google it! How can anyone be sure, which can be true, and which is modified? Reporting should be split into news reporting and editorial/ comment, but, often it appears, the lines have become blurred!
